HOW IT STARTED

From owning dogs to breeding.
My interest in dogs started early. From the very begining me and my husband Sven had rough collies. Already 1978 we bought our first female collie, who we named Diba. Six month later we got a male we named Floyd. Our kennel name "Difloyds" is made out of these two dogs names. I became a passionate show handler and Sven was the one who worked some of the dogs in obedience and tracking.

Thanks to close contact with some knowledgeable collie breeders I got more interested in breeding part and got inspiration to start our own breed program. We got some more dogs to have a good foundation for  breeding and 1982 we had our first litter of collie pups.

From rough collies to Australian Shepherd (Aussie)
Many years no other breed than collies existed in my mind. Then one day I read an article about a new breed in Sweden and saw a photo of a lovely blue merle Aussie. That got me interested in the breed. Since Sven also wanted to have more of a working dog that we had found the collies to be, we started to investigate and learn more about the breed. Our first Aussie came to our family 1995. It was Clinton (Missnutt's Best Bimbo), a black tri male. He was a lovely dog but unfortunately not of breeding quality.  We managed to find him an excellent home and an owner who kept working with him . Today he is retired from trialing but before that his owner managed to get him all the way up to the Advanced level of searching.

Our second aussie was Kimmy (SUCH LPI Regalsett Hill Flock sökI), a red merle male imported from England. From there we also bought Hilly (LPI Bearjay's Cordon Bleu), a blue merle bitch. These two gave us our first litter of aussie pups 1996.

From the first litter we kept a female, "Flash"- LPI SUCH Difloyds Silverado sökII, who also came to be the dog I seriously started to train and trial. A couple of years later we decided we needed to include a male from lines that was not related to the dogs we already had. Since the population in Sweden was very small we decided to import another dog and due to the quarantine restrictions we turned to Hawaii and found a male pup "Harley", Windstar Hawaiian Style, who arrived to Swden 1999.  When harley sired a litter to Hilly spring 2001 we kept a blue merle bitch, Difloyds Crossfire, "Skruttan".  To the right you can see a photo of our dogs.

During summer  2001 I had a litter that were thw fourth generation of Aussies here at Difloyds. I now can say that I start to see a result of our breed program, a type of Aussies I feel I can say is right for what I want a Difloyd Aussie to be.

Breeding goals
We breed for beautiful, sound and healthy  Aussies that we also want to have the will to take part in different performance activities. We put our priority on social outgoing dogs. .
