| FROM SHOW TO
PERFORMANCE During the time when I bred rough collies I personally focused on breed shows and conformation. But when we got out first Aussie a person with experience and knowledge about performance and swedish kind of working trials told me " you shouldnät get an Aussie if you aren't prepared to work with it". That, for me became a starting point for a new interest. Bot me and my husband Sven have since then trained and trialed our dogs in obedience and searching. At the moment there has been more training than trials, but we plan to change that soon. It is an exciting challenge to work the dogs to be able to trial and title them. We have been focused on obedience and searching but the dogs we have sold have also been worked in agility, tracking and reporting. Some also work their dogs on sheep and one Difloyd's dog have been trained to be a certified military dog. 2004 one dog from our breeding was a member of the gold winning team at the National Chanpionship in Agility. Yuu can read more about titled dogs from us under the link " Titled Dogs". Working with an Aussie It is a necessity to work with something where they need to include both their brains and bodies. An Aussie needs challenges to fulfill their needs. It is important to have both true interest, time and patience to keep working with the dog on a long time basis since it sometimes takes time before you see the results of the training hours you put on the dog. If you want to learn more about Aussies there are lots of information in english, both from books and websites. Some of it you can find from the "link" page.
